Mexico 2010

We are normally better prepared for the annual race to Isla Mujeres, a small island just off the coast of Cancun. This year we didn’t get that chance. Midnight Sun was hit very hard by another sailboat while anchored just off of marker #2 at the mouth of the Manatee river. The boat was hauled by Galati’s in January for extensive repairs that took nearly four months. The last piece of the repair puzzle fell into place when the truck with the toe rail arrived at three o’clock the day before the race. Galati’s had four men jump on the job with one of my crewmembers, fellow BYC member Steve Evans. Two hours later the boat was splashed.... Click here for the rest of the story
