The BYC Sailing Fleet has an active racing series all year with races nearly every week weather permitting. The races are usually on the Manatee River and are sailed on Thursday evenings during the summer and on Sunday afternoons during the winter. There is an active J-24 fleet and the club owns several JY-15's that are avaliable to members after being checked out by our US Sailing instructor. The racer/cruisers also sail in the river races as well as cruising to other clubs in our area. Several boats sail long distance races to Mexico, Key West and along our coast.
In addition to the seasonal racing series we have a Ladies at the Helm Race in the spring and a Commodores at the Helm Race in the fall, as well as the Kickoff Regatta in September.
The Manatee River Pram Fleet sails from BYC and has a really great program for teaching young people to sail.
The focus is enjoying the events and our beautiful area.
